I’m not exactly sure what has happened over the past week and a half but I have not stopped!
It all started last Monday (5th) when I was at work, frantic as usual, and my mobile rang; it was nursery, Joe didn’t feel great so they wanted me to pick him up. So at 2pm, I packed away and went off to pick up sick boy and take him home. We got home and he was fine, he’s had a cold and a cough which has been disturbing his sleep a little and this is why I think he was not himself at nursery, however he soon cheered up and was fine at home.
I ended up sleeping next to Joe on Monday night as he wasn’t well and I didn’t want him in our bed in case he passed his cold onto Chris who was having some teeth removed under a general in hospital the following day. I couldn’t sleep, I kept waking up feeling sick and with a really poorly tummy. There I was at 3am on the toilet (sorry I know, its FAR too much information) completely feeling sorry for myself and cursing because of the rotten timing of my sickness bug! Chris’s Mum came for him at 7am to take him off to hospital and I was dressed and had to take Joe to nursery at 7.30am – there was no way I could look after him and be as poorly sick as I was. Anyway, we were about to walk out of the door and I had to run up the stairs to the loo to puke before, so it was a very mad dash (with emergency carrier bags in case of vomiting incidents on route) to nursery, drop him off at the door as I didn’t want to infect anyone and then a mad dash home. I slept mostly, it was bliss to be able to just lie down while I was ill; something that I’ve not done since Joe was born!
Chris’s op went well and at 3.30pm I made the quick journey to pick Joe up as Chris was being dropped off at home again around 4pm and was not allowed to be on his own because of the anaesthetic. The evening went pretty well, the toilet visits were few and far between and I manage to eat a banana! Chris was uncomfortable but the hospital gave him a good supply of painkillers which actually just made him go to sleep they are so strong! Joe, still had his cough but wasn’t as miserable. He was however, driving me crazy with his constant hitting, biting and kicking me but that’s another story.
I took Wednesday off as I wasnt 100% and wanted to get the bug out of my system, Chris was exceptionally well considering and Joe was off to nursery.
Thursday, I went back to work, Joe to nursery and Chris was still at home in recovery. Work was crazy mental again, with the added stress that we had an LEA visit due (on the following Mon & Tues) and the senior team wanted data for all the classes – this is no easy task as every file had to be exported into excel and resized etc. I went for lunch and my phone rang, it was Chris and he was not well. Very unwell actually, he had almost passed out and had to crawl into the living room to fin his phone to ring me for help! So I grabbed a lift home, Chris looked dreadful, he threw up, felt better, I rang the GP who said he ha to rest, it was normal to react that way after a general an not to rive or go back to work until he felt 100%.
That is not all! We were having a carpet fitted in the living room on Saturday so we had to clear our the living room, including the fish tank – the fish had a holiday in 2 plastic bins, so by Friday evening I was a jibbering, tired mess!
Saturday came, carpet was laid and we had to put everything back. We’ve changed the room around which looks much better and Im so happy with the carpet – it was definitely worth the hassle!
Now, I need to rest!
